Race Comments: SCAT DADDY angled out on the first turn, stalked three wide along the backstretch, moved up on the turn, surged to the front at the quarter pole, battled into midstretch, edged clear in deep stretch and prevailed after a long drive. NOTIONAL settled in good position along the inside, angled out nearing the far turn, circled five wide into the stretch then closed strongly from outside but could not get up. CHELOKEE settled in good position for six furlongs, rallied along the rail on the turn, took up while trapped along the fence at the quarter pole, altered course to the outside in midstretch and rallied belatedly in the middle of the track. STORMELLO sprinted clear along the rail, set the pace along the inside to the quarter pole, battled into midstretch and weakened. BOOGIE BOGGS raced well back along the rail for five furlongs, swung five wide on the turn and closed late from outside. IMAWILDANDCRAZYGUY was outrun after breaking awkwardly and failed to threaten while saving ground. BIRDBIRDISTHEWORD trailed for a good part of the way, angled in on the far turn, swung five wide at the quarter pole and failed to menace. ADORE THE GOLD pressed between horses, lodged a bid to threaten on the turn and gave way. JOHANNESBURG STAR gave way while four wide on the turn and was eased late.
